Offer Secured | Landing a Role at a Fintech Giant (Pure Practical Tips)

The reason I went through so many interviews at first was that I hadn’t clearly identified my strengths. After adjusting my application direction in September, I started getting many final-round interviews and offers.

Here are the main reasons I got more interviews:

1️⃣ Most Important: Apply to freshly posted roles

LinkedIn shows jobs posted within the last 24 hours — prioritize these!
Many roles look open, but companies may already have candidates in late-stage interviews.

2️⃣ Hiring Seasons

Golden periods: Jan–Apr and Sep–Nov
Summer and winter holidays slow down processes.

3️⃣ CV

Use precise, professional wording + show results.
You don’t need a completely different CV for every role. Over-tailoring can look forced — and even if you pass Round 1, you may not reach the final.

4️⃣ Interview Review

After enough interviews, you’ll notice similar questions.
Reflect after each one and improve.

5️⃣ High-volume Applications

It does help — as long as they’re related to your field.

6️⃣ Vertical Focus

Having a clear niche is a big advantage.
Even if your work experience is short, projects, internships, short-term roles, and your major all count if they align in one vertical.

7️⃣ Language & Presence

Clear, fluent English and strong presence matter.
Practice a lot — mock interviews with mentors or friends help build confidence.

I truly experienced the rollercoaster of job hunting.
I graduated in 2022 and got four offers in my first month.
After working three years, my company shut down, affecting my visa. I had to try many ways to extend it. I couldn’t work for nearly a year due to visa issues, and sponsored jobs became harder to find.

When unemployed, it’s easy to spiral, but I kept pushing myself — deepening my expertise, improving application materials, and getting interview coaching.

After sorting out my visa, I spent four months interviewing — around 60 interviews from HR screens to final rounds. I received three offers and joined my ideal job (fully remote + one of the largest fintech companies in the UK).

Prepare early. Apply more. Interview more. Reflect more.
Improve a little every day — you will land a role.
Good luck! 💪
