Fintech Job Hunt! My Complete Revolut APM Application Journey
If your CV hasn’t passed Revolut’s initial screening yet, you must read this!
As one of the UK’s top fintech unicorns, competition for Revolut’s APM is as intense as investment banking. I documented my full 21-day journey from application to offer — all hard-earned lessons.
This is a complete APM application map.
🔷 Stage 1: CV & Online Assessment
Pitfall to avoid: Make sure your CV highlights quantifiable achievements.
Revolut’s screening is very hard-nosed. If you don’t show concrete growth metrics or efficiency improvements in percentages, it’s difficult to move forward.
🔷 Stage 2: The “Mini-Case” Chat
This round is not just a resume walkthrough.
The interviewer may throw in a scenario like:
“If Revolut’s card sign-ups in Spain suddenly drop by 10%, what would you check first?”
High-score tip: Build a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) framework. Break the problem down from three angles — channels, technology, and competitors — to demonstrate structured thinking.
🔷 Stage 3: The Bar Raiser
This round is usually led by a very senior PM.
They will challenge you to challenge everything.
High-score tip: Stay calm and push back with data. If you don’t have data, clearly state your assumptions. Revolut values logic — even if your conclusion differs from theirs, a rigorous reasoning process can still get you through.
🔷 Revolut’s hiring culture:
It’s all about getting things done, with very high pressure. If you prioritize work-life balance, this may not be the best fit. But if you want three years of growth in one year, Revolut is one of the best places in the UK.
