I moved from a PSW to a work visa — what did I do right?
After graduating in 2023 and receiving my PSW visa, I believed that hard work and applying to big companies would be enough to secure my future. However, repeated rejections due to visa requirements led to self-doubt and frustration. I eventually shifted my mindset—stopping self-limiting beliefs, focusing on opportunities first and visa solutions later, and targeting small and medium-sized companies while proving my value. By the end of 2024, my employer sponsored my work visa. This journey taught me that your visa status does not define your worth, and opportunities often come to those who stay resilient and proactive.
